It's March and I have daffodils on my mind.

I'm photoshopping photos to make them look like paintings.

And thinking about daffodil quilts

Another fabulous quilt design is Mountain Mist's "Dancing Daffodils". The basic unit here is an asymmetrical stem.

Flipped over twice and rotated to make a 4-way symmetrical block

You could also repeat the daffodil unit

As far as the daffodil paintings: I photoshopped some seed catalog photos by applying an "artistic filter". I wish I could paint this well.

Veena Malik’s birthday to be made special by Ashmit Patel: A few days back when it was Ashmit Patel’s birthday, Veena Malik made sure to be present there, posing comfortably for the photogs with Ashmit. And when it was her birthday recently, Ashmit especially flew down to Delhi from Mumbai to be with her at her birthday party.

But what could have been an awesome day for the couple turned out to be a nightmare for both Ashmit and Veena. A host of journos asked the couple several uncomfortable questions. Veena was even asked about her relationship with Pak cricketer Mohammad Asif, and whether she was also involved in the match-fixing controversy. Naturally the actress didn’t answer the questions and started mingling with other media persons.

Later, it’s reported that when the couple went to cut the cake, a fight broke out between a bouncer and a journo. Seeing this, the media decided to boycott the event and they also demanded an apology from the bouncer.

So though Ashmit made it special, Veena’s birthday party was not without spoilers.

No hot scene between Salman Khan and Asin in 'Ready': The rumours of a hot and steamy intimate scene between Salman Khan and Asin in director Anees Bazmee’s comedy film Ready has turned out to be just that - rumours.

After London Dreams, Salman and Asin team up again for Ready which is a comedy. But there’s lately been a gossip that the duo has filmed for a very hot scene in the film. Director Anees Bazmee denies it.

“I don't know where these rumours came from. There is no steamy sequence between Salman and Asin in Ready,” Bazmee is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Bazmee added that he makes clean entertainers that can be enjoyed by families.

“I don't make films which I can't watch with my own family. Look at any of my films so far, they can be seen comfortably without worrying that anything untoward may come on screen,” said Bazmee.

The director added that the so-called intimacy between Salman and Asin is part of a song and there’s nothing objectionable in it.

Shahid Kapoor trying to get back Priyanka's love: After the nth lover’s tiff with ladylove Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor is apparently trying to win her back.

A lot of people from the film industry turned up to wish Shahid Kapoor on his birthday on Saturday. Many leading ladies of his films -- including Rani Mukherjee, Anushka Sharma, Genelia D’Souza and Sonam Kapoor -- were there. But conspicuous by her absence was Priyanka, who reportedly had a fight with Shahid and then flew to the US.

Shahid and Priyanka’s perpetually now-on-now-off relationship has been fodder to gossip mills, but sources close to the couple claim that Shahid doesn’t often express his affection for Priyanka and this ticks her off.

That’s apparently also the reason behind their latest tiff, following which Priyanka packed her bags and left to the US, caring not a hoot to return on his birthday on Saturday.

But we hear that Shahid did try to persuade her to change her mind and return to Mumbai for his birthday bash. He kept trying till the last hour, but when Priyanka did not give any bhav, he too gave up.

However, knowing well the history of their blow-hot-blow-cold romance, we won’t be surprised if they kiss and make up soon.

But her boyfriend, one of the most prominent comedians on TV, Krishna Abhishek hasn’t seen the calendar yet.

While talking to a daily, he reveals the secret and says, “I haven't seen the calendar yet. She won’t show me all the pictures. So I don’t really know how much 'boob-show' is there in it.” The man also hopes that his ladylove hasn’t crossed the limit as he doesn’t want his family to feel embarrassed.

Like others he also knows Kashmera is a very sexy woman and her calendar will also have some sultry pictures.

The Most Expensive Khan is Salman Khan!: Post Dabangg success, Salman Khan has got a new name; he is the industry’s Dabangg Khan and now also the highest paid actor in Bollywood.

If reports are to be believed, then Salman has charged a whopping Rs 17.5 crore for Ready and he is also a partner in profit sharing of the film which is directed by Anees Bazmee. The figure is unbelievable but that’s the buzz which has got the tongues wagging in tinsel town.

As a source tells a daily, “The profit-sharing bit is right but actors, especially those like Salman and Akshay Kumar also charge a price and over and above it, they take home a share in the profits.”

But seeing Salman’s popularity who will say no to his demand; willy-nilly the producers will line-up outside his door.
